Better Snapshots

Enterprise storage systems all provide some form of snapshots, and despite their claims of unlimited snapshots, they all have limitations. Despite their claims, most support a finite number of snapshots, and all storage systems suffer a performance impact if IT wants to retain more than a few versions. The result is that snapshots are only practical for feeding the backup process instead of replacing it. These limitations also force customers to purchase separate copy data management solutions and count on bloated deduplication to reduce storage capacity requirements.
